Study on Thermal Cascading System Using Solar Thermal System Integrated In Parallel with Co-generation System

Abstract: In this paper, performance of the solar thermal system integrated in parallel with co-generation system installed in new office building is investigated. The heat sources of the proposed energy saving system consist of collected solar heat and heat from co-generation system, and mixed heat is supplied for cooling with absorption refrigerator, regenerating for THIC system, heating and domestic water. Solar thermal system is focused on to assess the prediction accuracy of the solar thermal system by comparison between measurement of the first year and simulation results. Simulation program used in this study was developed as the tool for Life Cycle Energy Management of HVAC system, and the calculation result shows good agreement with the measurement. With this verified simulation model, the sensitivity of array patterns of solar thermal collector is analyzed and efficiency of solar utilization is examined.
