Abstract: The influences on the resulting equivalent thermal conductivities of the hollow bricks after modelling the shape of cavities, different thicknesses of the brick segments and different material densities are examined and analyzed. For some considered hollow bricks with rectangular cavities the equivalent thermal conductivities of the bricks where determined as a function of the thermal conductivities of different brick-materials and of the equivalent thermal conductivities of the cavities. The results are represented in the corresponding tables and diagrams. How the results of these investigations are showing, bricks with further optimised cavities are to be produced, but also the limitations of optimization are shown.
