Einsatzmöglichkeiten und Nutzen der numerischen Strömungssimulation in der Gebäudetechnik
A. WimmerAbstract: The more and more complex ventilation conditions and the growing requirements concerning thermal comfort require today already in the initial sketch and the planning phase a comprehensive study and optimization of the expected ventilation and fire safety conditions. Therefore, in recent years computational fluid dynamics (CFD) gained importance for the concept identification and optimization for new buildings. By means of CFD aspects like natural and mechanical ventilation, thermal comfort, energy concepts under consideration of solar radiation, flow within glass cavity facades, building physical phenomena, building aerodynamics and fire protection and removal of smoke concepts can be investigated. This presentation shows with a number of case studies the numerous application areas of computational fluid dynamics to develop improved building, energy and plant concepts. In addition to prestigious largescale projects like the “Messe Frankfurt” or the “Allianz-Arena” in Munich also applications of CFD in small and medium sized building projects are dealt with.
