Phase Change Materials – Ein Beitrag zur Reduktion sommerlicher Überhitzungen von Wohnbauten in Holzbauweise

Abstract: Based upon a detailed “state-of-the-art”-study concerning Phase Change Materials PCM´s are examined within the scope of a theoretical research project carried out at the Centre of Susatinable Buildings, Kassel. Materials, best suitable for the integration into wooden wall-, ceiling- and floorconstructions are chosen from the possible range. The basic principles of integration of the chosen materials are discussed and applied to common building elements of lightweight wooden houses. In a simulation study three rooms of a single residential house, staffed with these constructions, are examined and compared to common massive construction principles by calculating resulting temperaturecourses within a summerperiod.
