Lüftung von Operationssälen- Optimierung der Raumluftströmung mit Hilfe von CFD-Simulationen

Abstract: In a research project – lead-managed by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts Lucerne – in cooperation with the Zurich University of Applied Sciences Winterthur (ZHAW), the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (TFH) and about 30 industry partners – the application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to operating rooms is investigated. In a first stage, a detailed validation of the simulations was carried out with measured data of an operating room, which was built as an original model in the laboratory. After the successful completion of this validation, miscellaneous investigations for the optimization of the airflow were performed by numerical simulation. The knowledge about the modelling and simulation process – gained from the simulations – is published in a “Best practice guideline for airflow simulations in operating rooms.”
