Energetische Bewertung von Stadtstrukturtypen am Beispiel von Berlin

Michael Prytula

Abstract: Sustainability of urban systems requires the efficient use of energy and a supply with renewable energy resources. Meanwhile there are many approaches and good examples in rural areas for regional and decentralized use of renewable energy, there are only a few concepts for urban systems. The aim of this research is a general model, how urban systems will be supplied by renewable energy resources. The model describes the dependence of energy demands related to land use patterns and urban infrastructure based on a classification of urban pattern typologies. These typologies are characterized by form, density, usage, structural technology and building services. For the evaluation of buildings will be used established energy accounting software as EPASS – HELENA. For the examination of competing land use for biomass production (food, feeding stuff, consumer goods or fuels) and other substance flow analysis will be used the software SIMBOX. The software has been developed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (EAWAG) and enables simulations of stationary as well as dynamic systems.
