Simulation offener Treppenhäuser mit Abgängen zu unbeheizten Kellern

Abstract: Open staircases that lead to the unheated basement have frequently been built in German houses.This kind of construction is still very common especially in row of semi-detached houses. Although being so conventional, there is a fundamental lack of knowledge how this construction affects the thermal and comfort situation in such buildings. A research project has been initiated between an engineering office and the Technische Universität München in order to enhance the knowledge about such constructions. The intention is to specify the leading factors and to study how they can be taken into account in calculating process. The main reason is to find a simplified but still valid method to be used in static calculations. The abstract is part of this research project and is engaged with dynamic simulations of this construction. Its main aim is to calculate airtemperature at basement level. To develop a suitable model to simulate such building areas is one reason of the article. Possibilities to model staircases and air ventilation within the used programs „HAUSer“ and „IDA– Indoor Climate and Energie“ shall be discussed and their adaptability shall be demonstrated through calculation and theoretical considerations. In order to implement the model into the named programs some modifications have to be accomplished. Through these alterations the pros and cons of the programs shall be highlighted. By variating parameters the leading coefficients shall be found which mostly affects the airtemperature at basement level.
