Abstract: Thermal comfort and the ventilation effectiveness are important targets for the construction of modern supply systems. Both targets depend on the distribution of local temperatures and velocities of air in a room. In a new experiment the modelling processes in room air streams are examined experimentally. The construction of the test facility provides forced convection in the upper part of the room due to the supply air jets and free convection at the walls of the heat sources. A comparison of the experimental data of the room air structure inside the test facility with a CFD simulation shows similar results.
