CFD-Strömungssimulation zur Sicherstellung eines behaglichen und energieeffizienten Schwimmbadbetriebs

Mirko Klein, Harald Garrecht

Abstract: In numerous cases the energy consumption of public swimming pools is located far above the energy consumption of non-residential buildings. As a result a research study is conducted in order to assess the energy efficiency of public swimming pools, using the public swimming pool in Kelsterbach as an example. Within the scopes of “Energieoptimierten Bauens” the control of the swimming pools technical system is accompanied over a period of 2 years. Since its opening in January 2010 an elaborate energy- and climate monitoring is being used to identify and optimize system parameters and operation options of the highly sophisticated HVACsystem to assure a long term and efficient energy consumption as well as sustainable use of resources. By means of building performance and fluid dynamics simulations analyses of the indoor climate are included. At this the indoor air conditions of the seasonal operations are determined in order to guarantee high comfortableness for bathers.
