ENHANCED STORAGE TANK SIMULATIONS USING DYNAMIC FLUID MODELING WITH MODELICA

Abstract: The paper proposes storage tank models that are informative enough to study and assess the correct storage management - a relevant issue for energy efficiency - while being at the same time computationally efficient, and easy to integrate with models of different physical domains. The result is obtained by a convenient use of object-oriented modelling, via the Modelica language. After presenting the model, a simulation study is shown METHODOLOGY The Governing Equations The motion of fluid is described by the equations of mass, energy and momentum balance, and this set of equations is often referred to as the Navier-Stokes equations.
