Empirische Validierung von Modellen großer Warmwasserspeicher für die instationäre thermo-hydraulische Gebäude- und Anlagensimulation

Abstract: This article describes a novel concept of utilizing a fiber-optic temperature sensing system in a large hot water storage tank. The measurement principle allows reading some ten thousands measurement points along a several kilometers long fiberglass cable within few seconds. By the presented arrangement of the cable, which itself acts as a linear sensor, it is possible to obtain information even on the spatial transient temperature distribution inside the storage. The measurement data obtained by this way will be used through the empirical validation of storage models for the thermo-hydraulic simulation, which is to be performed on systems at the upper end of the magnitude scale. In advance the measurement principle is to be tested in laboratory conditions on a prototype storage tank to validate its usability in the large scale field application.
