Hygrothermische Simulation in 3D Bauteilen mit Comsol Multiphysics

Abstract: Hygrothermal 3D simulation in constructions with COMSOL Multiphysics In this paper a model for the simulation of heat and moisture transfer in building elements including convective transport through air gaps is presented. The model is implemented with the programm COMSOL Multiphysics for solving 3D problems. Such simulations give essential knowledge for planning the retrofit of existing buildings. Valuable recommendations for planners and decision makers with regard to the reduction of condensation risk can be derived. The simulation of a brick wall with internal insulation connected with wooden beam ceiling is presented as an applicative example.
