Numerische Simulation eines bionischen Rohrbogens für thermische Verteilnetze

Abstract: The application of bionic bends for the reduction of pressure losses in heating systems are investigated in this article. In the past, investigations mainly focused on large curvature radii Rk/D >10 due to practical experimental restrictions. It is shown here that a potential exists for small curvature radii Rk/D < 3. As a typical test case, the flow in a pipe with an inside diameter of 20 mm at a Reynolds number of 20 × 10³ was investigated. The bionic modification achieved a 20 % reduction in the pressure drop of a 90°-bend with a curvature radius Rk of 1.5 D. Tabelle 1: Untersuchte Parameter
