Abstract: In building energy simulations, user interactions are a source of uncertainty, since it is not easy to predict the actions of people. Different studies in the past tried to measure user behavior and identify correlations with outer stimuli to make it possible to model this behavior. However, thus far, the focus has been on residential and office buildings. This paper is trying to estimate the user interventions concerning lighting, the opening of windows and usage schedules of plug loads in hospitals. The results show a strong dependency from the different room types in hospitals. Therefore the results concerning office buildings from other studies cannot be adopted without changes. Nighttime schedules for lighting and plug loads have to be considered as well, since many rooms are being used day and night.
