Numerische Simulation am Praxisbeispiel der hygrothermie von Holzbalkenköpfen

Abstract: Wooden beam ceilings are an important part of the structural framework in historical buildings which often cannot be directly accessed for service. Planning and execution of the beam bearing construction must avoid a risk of damage due to a rise of wood moisture above a critical level. Numerical simulations of hygrothermal behavior are used as a planning tool, especially for energy concepts with inside insulation systems. The comparison of numerical calculations of the moisture curve with measured values at wooden beams in test houses shows the possibilities and limitations of the simulation software. Based on experiences with long term measurements in different renovation projects, the article provides support for the evaluation of other influencing factors. A modeling of the construction with respect to the geometry and material properties, building climate influences and ancillary conditions, e.g. building moisture during construction, will be presented.
