Abstract: A large number of existing buildings have building automation and control systems that continuously record sensor and actuator data. These operating data reflect the functionality of the building as a whole as well as of individual building technology systems and are generated in large quantities (Big Data) during building operation. Within the framework of this research project, an algorithmic Big Data construction kit was developed as an information technology framework, with the help of which various questions concerning the analysis of operational data can be answered efficiently. The innovative focus lies in the development of scalable and automated solutions to minimize performance gaps. The experimental application of the Big Data analysis methods showed the identification of potentials for energy operation optimization in existing buildings.
