Abstract: What happens in a building over the next 100 years? In a nutshell, we don't know. These unknown events during operation phase, make design decisions in early design phases challenging. To guarantee a flexible and long-term use of a building, the aim is to build as robust as possible. Finding robust building configurations is challenging. Therefore, the so-called building robustness index (BRI) is introduced. It is based on energy demand, thermal comfort and their standard deviations between different building configurations. As a result, BRI identifies robust configurations, showing a promising solution that can be transferred to other parametric building studies.
