Performance comparison of static and adjustable photovoltaic panels

Abstract: Photovoltaic (PV) installations can increase the fraction of renewable sources in the energy mix. Thereby, one of the relevant questions concerns the cost-benefit analysis of static (fixed) installations versus dynamic installations capable of solar tracking. Moreover, in addition to the entirely static option and the solar tracking option, it is conceivable to set up PV panel installations whose tilt be adjusted "manually". The present paper compares the energetic output and estimated installation and maintenance cost of static, fully dynamic, and multiple instances of recurrent manually executed directional adjustment of the PV panels.
