This development not only favors the development and integration of future building automation algorithms, but also increases the overall system complexity. This makes extensive testing of building automation systems indispensable in order to ensure reliable operation. However, current test beds do not yet provide functionality for testing the entire automation system including the enhanced network communication. This work presents a prototype for a cloud-based development platform for designing and testing building automation algorithms taking into account future challenges due to augmented digital networking.
