Uncertainty analysis of life cycle assessment input parameters on city quarter level

Abstract: Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) are mandatory to extend the assessment of the ecological and energetic performance of buildings to a life-cycle based approach. At the district level, however, there are often data gaps in relation to relevant assessment input data. These gaps are closed by assumptions, which lead to uncertainties in the calculation and interpretation of results. In order to identify the parameters with the greatest influence on the results, an uncertainty analysis is carried out using a case study with 196 residential buildings. Parameters with the greatest influence on life cycle based embedded and operational energy/emissions of buildings are identified.
