Modelling of Complex Fenestration Systems – Validation Results by Long-Term Measured Data

Abstract: This paper shows comparative results between simulated and measured values on a complex façade system. The simulation was carried out with the newly implemented model in TRNSYS for complex glazing systems based on the ISO 15099 standard and using BSDF data. Long-term measurements were done on a test façade under real weather conditions. Investigations were made on a major diffuse-reflecting and a highly specular blind system to examine the model capabilities. We compared modelled and simulated layers and air gap temperatures. The overall model results show a satisfying correlation. Nevertheless, model simplifications are reflected in the results and discussed in the conclusion of the paper.
