Climate Change Adaptation Study for the Cooperative Head Office, Manchester

Abstract: This paper presents a research study on climate change adaptation strategy for The Cooperative Head Office building in Manchester, UK. The study focusses on the impact of projected future weather conditions on potential overheating risk. Simulation was used to evaluate the extent of the potential impact and assess the effectiveness of the recommended adaptation measures. A number of innovative passive design features have already been incorporated in the scheme, but how the innovative systems would respond under future climate projections, is one of the key areas that are addressed in the proposed study.
