Relationship between internal shading devices effects on the visual and thermal energy performance in a side-lit office building
Dayan de Loyola Ramos Garcia, Fernando Oscar Ruttkay PereiraAbstract: The considered shading devices control in the office buildings in the design stage is connected to the building performance predicted. In this research, the effects of internal shading devices controls on the thermal-energy and visual performance criteria were correlated to identify the correspondence between the variability of these aspects. The annual simulation approach was applied to get hourly conditions of daylight glare, illuminance levels, window’s solar heat gain and cooling energy demand. The visual performance criteria showed higher correspondence, while the cooling energy demand correlated to the window’s solar heat gain and to the visual criteria showed lower correlation significance.
