DEVELOPING PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY CONTROL APPROACHES FOR IMPROVING THE EE4 BUILDING SIMULATION SOFTWARE
Robert Calla, Phylroy Lopez, Paul Wyndham-WheelerAbstract: In 1997, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) developed a highly specialized building energy compliance-checking software called EE4. The need to release a better quality product and to make enhancements and maintenance of the EE4 software more efficient led to several initiatives on behalf of the CANMET Energy Technology Centre (CETC): the development of a detailed project management database to track the various types of work and their level of progress, the implementation of a coding standard, the incorporation of some software configuration management practices and the development of an automated set of testing procedures. These are the initiatives which are discussed in this paper. Paper:esim2001_10
