MODELLING BUILDING-INTEGRATED STIRLING CHP SYSTEMS

Alex Ferguson, Nick Kelly

Abstract: A model suitable for studying building-integrated Stirling combined heat and power (CHP) systems has been developed and integrated in to the ESP-r simulation program. The model relies on empirical data to predict the thermal and electrical output of the CHP unit in response to conditions in the building. In this paper, the development and calibration of the model are discussed, and the model's predictions are compared experimental data collected at the Canadian Centre for Housing Technology.
