Insights from Energy Modeling into the Design of High-Performance Residential High-Rise Condominiums

Abstract: In recent years, green building standards have had a strong influence on the energy performance of new building projects. Whether voluntary (such as the LEED® Green Building Rating System) or mandatory (such as local Green Development Standards)-new standards have pushed energy performance targets to higher and higher levels and, at the same time, they have created an increased reliance on energy modeling to assess and document energy savings. As a result, new and important information about the energy performance of specific building types is emerging.
