Abstract: The new LEED-NC version 2.2 requirements incorporate energy modeling which forms the foundation of the measurement and verification process for the Whole Building Calibrated Simulation. As integrated design is adopted by project teams, the energy modeler can play a key role to achieve a successful measurement and verification program. The purpose of this paper is to provide guidelines for using energy modeling as a foundation of measurement and verification as well as using the energy model to shape the controls and operation during the design, construction and operation process.
