A New Climate & Hourly Data Delivery System Providing Global Support for Precision Modeling and Control
John L Keller, Charles A KhuenWeather Analytics Inc., Winchester, MA USAAbstract: The need for precision data to support building performance is growing exponentially, yet the quality and availability of weather data has not changed in decades. We present a new online weather data service with immediate access to precision, localized weather history, current conditions and forecasts. The localized weather is created by integrating all available ground station observations with high-resolution datasets from NOAA from 1/1979 through seven-day forecasts. The system also accepts input from on-site private sensor(s). It is designed to support modeling and ongoing monitoring, predicted vs. actual performance and to enable advances in monitoring and predictive control. The quality of the output has been verified in comparisons with sites with multiple weather stations. Pages: 337 - 344 Paper:simbuild2012_06a_1_Keller
