Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of natural ventilation control in office buildings. A new airflow balance simulation tool that can be estimate the effect of natural ventilation control is proposed. This simulation tool can also be used to evaluate the effect of setting the lower limit control of the room temperature to prevent overcooling due to natural ventilation. This is achieved by adjusting the opening ratio (e.g. opening area, number of opening or opening duration) of the natural ventilation opening. The authors confirmed the fundamental effect of natural ventilation control using the proposed simulation tool.
