Research on Guidelines for Window Design Strategies in High Performance Office Buildings
Qinbo Li, Jeff HaberlTexas A&M University, College Station, TXAbstract: This study presents an analysis of the daylighting and thermal performances of the window size and placement. In this study, a typical-sized office model with varing window sizes and placements (with the same window area) were selected to compare the abilities of different simulation tools that integrated thermal and daylighting simulation methods. The thermal and daylighting results from different simulation tools were analyzed and compared, and the best integrated thermal and daylighting simulation method was identified. Finally, a combined daylighting and thermal simulation guide is proposed for architects for the eveluation of window size and placement design strategies. Pages: 447 - 454 Paper:simbuild2020_C054
