Optimal Sizing of Integrated Community Energy Systems Considering Equity Constraints
Christoph Gehbauer, Yulun Wu, James Brown, Michael SohnDOI: https://doi.org/10.26868/25746308.2022.C025Abstract: Integrated energy systems (IES) describe a holistic approach to finding coordinated energy and economic solutions. IES have the potential to mitigate inequities which can arise from grid, space, or economic limitations. This paper introduces a simulation environment to model IES and provides a parametric analysis of battery sizes through an optimal control strategy to assess the potential of IES. The electricity cost savings for controls integration through IES ranged up to 10.0 % on an annual basis and up to 23.5 % for certain periods. Equitable and economic access to green energy can be provided by sharing resources through IES. Pages: 209 - 216 Paper:simbuild2022_C025
